The Popular North American Rail Pass

Wednesday June 07 by Claudia bourneusatoday travel
For the third year running, Amtrak and VIA Rail Canada are teaming up, Eurail-style, to offer travelers a value-packed, multi-country rail pass. The pass has been a hit since 1998, and with good reason, since users of it can zip all over the United States and Canada from only $656 (C$965) for 30 consecutive days. That price is good over 28,000 miles (45,000 km) of track through, 900 cities and towns, and some of our continent's most sublime scenery, including any of the three passages through the Rockies. In fact, if you're strange, you could conceivably live on the train for a month, going from Nova Scotia to Los Angeles and Prince Rupert, B.C. to Miami. You still need to get reservations for your journeys, but the fares will be covered by your pass.
